Ribena revisited

Email yang saya terima berkenaan Ribena:

Assalamualaikum,

From a source in GSK Malaysia, this issue is an old issue (two years ago).
I was informed that Ribena marketed in Malaysia is produced locally
(Keramat, Selangor). It is clean and suitable for muslim consumption.

He told me too that the company has issued a statement on their local
website. I did not check it though.

Wallahu'alam

Saya juga sempat menjengah website berkenaan.

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) would like to assure all consumers that all our products, including Ribena & Lucozade, are manufactured to stringent safety and quality standards and are labeled strictly in accordance with prevailing government regulations.

We also confirm that all Ribena products sold in Malaysia are alcohol-free. The following Ribena products are certified halal by JAKIM (Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia) - Concentrate (Regular, Glucose & Light), Pastilles (Regular, Peach & Mixed Berries), Ready-to-Drink in tetrapack (Regular, Glucose, Apple, & Tutti Frutti) and Sparkling Ribena.

JAKIM certification is currently in progress for Ribena Mobile (Regular, Glucose, Peach & Pear). However, we have received halal certification from the Philippines Muslim Council where it is currently being manufactured.

Selamat dan lega sedikit.
